K2A Skincare [Review]

If you’re a regular here, then you’ll know that I’ve dedicated this year to finding skincare that truly works wonders for my skin. You are also probably bored to death of hearing how pregnancy messed up my skin but it’s still an issue I am struggling with, seven months post-partum. I’m not struggling with hormonal break outs anymore (thank goodness) but there are still dry, dull patches that just won’t take a hike.

K2A Skincare sent me some goodies to try out on my quest for better skin. They are a local company that focuses on creating skincare that is free from sulphates, parabens, artificial colourants and fragrances. Their aim is make your skincare routine a luxurious experience.

I’ve been using their Exfoliating Face Polish and Gentle Cleansing Milk diligently for two months now. (No small feat when you are a beauty blogger hell bent on testing ALL the skincare).

The fact that I’m still using it two months down the line should tell you everything that you need to know – I like it. I can usually tell after the first week whether it’s going to work for me, but after a month I know for sure.

Exfoliating Face Polish

“Our Exfoliating Face Polish does not contain microbeads (which are harmful to our ocean, seabirds, whales, turtles and other marine life). We use jojoba beads in a blend of Cocoa butter, which is good for dryness; Sweet Almond oil, which is rich in Vitamin E and contributes to skin rejuvenation and skin elasticity; Coconut oil which deeply moisturises the skin; Argan Kernel oil which strengthens and protects the skin and Rosehip oil, which has great antioxidant properties and contains Omega 6 and Vitamin C. Gently exfoliate the face and neck with circular movements for a bright refreshing complexion.” Source

I am always a bit weary of physical scrubs as most tend to be too abrasive and lead to redness and some inflammation, but this one is comfortable and very gentle. So gentle in fact, that I use it twice a day and have not experienced any signs of over exfoliation (tight, shiny and red skin).

The bonus is how moisturising it is. It tricks me into thinking that I don’t need to moisturise afterwards.

Very, very pleased with this exfoliator.

Gentle Cleansing Milk

“Our Gentle Cleansing Milk is a light lotion which contains Parsley Leaf extract to deep cleanse the skin and Aloe Vera and Calendula to soothe and moisturise. It contains Neroli essential oil which has wonderful nurturing and uplifting properties and Damask Rose essential oil which promotes a youthful complexion. These are all blended with Sweet Almond, Coconut and Argan Kernel oil to leave the skin feeling smooth and hydrated.” Source

It’s one of life’s little pleasures to use a great cleansing lotion. It just feels so luxurious. Your skin feels beautifully refreshed and moisturised without a tightness that so often comes with a cleansing gel.

The high oil content allows this cleanser to be a great makeup remover but not so much near the eye area. There’s something in it that makes my eyes water when it gets a bit too close.

Final Thoughts

I love using them and my skincare routine has definitely been transformed into a happy time that I look forward to each day instead of a chore that I try to get done as quick as possible.
