I’m very, very excited about today’s post because I genuinely believe that I have found THE BEST metallic eyeliners available at the drugstore / pharmacy.
I was looking for a rich, chocolaty brown metallic eyeliner and stumbled upon Maybelline’s Master Drama Nudes liner in Brownie Glitz. It was perfect is absolutely every way so I picked up the other two shades, Pearl Taupe and Rose Pearl as well.
Let’s just look at some swatches before we continue.
Left to right: Rose Pearl, Peal Taupe and Brownie Glitz. (Left: smudged. Right: Single layer application.)
Aren’t they just spectacular? The magpie in me is smitten.
Each liner is equally as pigmented and buttery as the others and they glide on effortlessly with no tugging.
You have about a minute to smudge the liners before they set. Once set, they don’t budge, fade or crease during the day. I decided to swatch them on my arm before bed time to see if they would rub off during the night, but they were just as sparkly and bright in the morning.
Are they similar to Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo eyeshadows?
I noticed that the colour payoff and longevity seemed similar to Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo eyeshadows so I swatched them next to each other. My suspicions were confirmed but the colours were a tiny bit different.
The Rose Pearl liner is a very close match to the Rose Gold eyeshadow although it’s ever so slightly more peachy.

Pearl Taupe is slightly more cool toned than On and On Bronze.

I rate if you already own the Colour Tattoo eyeshadows in Rose Gold and On and On Bronze then you don’t really need Pearl Taupe and Rose Pearl in your collection because it’s easy enough to use a small brush and apply the eyeshadow as eyeliner but Brownie Glitz is a must have. It’s soooo stunning I can’t get over it.
I’ve only had Brownie Glitz for a week now and I’ve already sharpened it three times because I just can’t stop using it. I wish Maybelline would bring out this shade in the Colour Tattoo range because you get SO much product for next to nothing with the pots. I’ve already ordered four more Brownie Glitz pencils from Feel Unique because I can’t imagine life without it now. I just hope they don’t dry out while sitting in my drawer.
Have you tried these pencils yet? Would you like to? Which shade is your favourite? Do you agree that they are the best metallic eyeliners? SO MANY QUESTIONS! Let me know in the comments.
